Altschuler Pans State of the Union Speech
Says Americans are frustrated by too much rhetoric, not enough action in DC
January 25, 2012 – Americans across the political spectrum are frustrated by the overabundance of rhetoric and lack of real solutions coming out of Washington, DC when it comes to job growth, fiscal responsibility and government reform, said congressional challenger Randy Altschuler today.
“If President Obama puts as much energy into growing the economy and balancing the budget as he does pitting Americans against each other with his tired class warfare rhetoric, perhaps the state of our union would be in much better shape than it is today,” said Altschuler, who criticized the entire Washington establishment for failing to find common sense solutions to the problems faced by people in Suffolk County and around the country.
“The people of Suffolk County are still losing jobs by the thousands and struggling to pay some of the highest taxes in the country,” said Altschuler. “Frankly, they have had it with all the partisan finger-pointing – they want solutions; they want action.”
“Unfortunately, our current Congressman Tim Bishop, is part of the problem in Washington,” said Altschuler. “Bishop has spent nearly a decade in Congress as little more than a partisan rubberstamp, standing by idly as the local economy has suffered. If elected, I will use my real world experience as a self-made businessman to work with people on both sides of the aisle to actually get stuff done! I will work to implement policies that help small business in Suffolk County start growing again and ensure that our children work and raise their own families on the Island.”
